Statement of Beliefs

We believe:

  • In every person’s need of salvation from eternal damnation (separation from God) through sin (falling short of God’s absolute standards of holiness in thought, attitude, and deed).
  • That the only means of salvation (cleansed from sin) is through repentance (change of heart, mind and conduct) and faith in Jesus Christ (accepting Him as Savior and Lord) which brings spiritual rebirth (regeneration) by the Holy Spirit evidenced by a changed life (the fruits of repentance).
  • In sanctification by the Holy Spirit by Whom the Christian is both made holy and increasingly led and enabled to live a holy life.
  • That the Bible is inspired by God, the revelation of God to man, and the only infallible and authoritative Word of God.
  • That there is only one true God, eternally existent in the three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  • In the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
  • In His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, and His ascension to the right hand of the Father.
  • In water baptism by total immersion.
  • In the Baptism of the Holy Spirit separate from the new birth – empowering the Christian for effective service and witness and imparting the gifts of the Spirit. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. We do not say it is necessary for salvation.
  • In the Holy Communion – the symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation – as commanded by Him at the Last Supper.
  • That the redemptive work of Christ provides healing of the spirit, soul and body through faith in Him.
  • In the institution of marriage (Holy Matrimony before God) between a man and a woman.
  • In making disciples as  Christ commanded.
  • In the Rapture of the Church – when Christ shall come for His Bride, the Church, which shall be removed from the earth in an instant.
  • In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost – the saved to everlasting life and the lost (without Christ) to eternal damnation.
  • In Christ’s future return to rule and reign for a thousand years on the earth;
  • In  a new heaven and a new earth and the New Jerusalem following Christ’s millennial reign as  revealed in  Revelation 21 & 22.
