Heaven Course
We are presently teaching our Heaven Course in the house group we are part of in Eastbourne. And, as ever, it’s a whole lot of fun and a tremendous encouragement to us all, especially to us. We are told in the New Testament to think of things above, things of heaven, not of the earth; and it really does pay dividends to do that. It strengthens us in our faith and hope.
Heaven is real; and Jesus has gone to prepare a place there for each one of us who believes. He said He would do that and He has never lied. If we believe and rely on Him in this life, heaven is truly our home.
Most blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is. (Jer. 17:7 Amplified)
This passage of Scripture goes on to say that such a man is like a tree planted by a stream; his leaves are always green and he has no fear in a year of drought; he never ceases to bear fruit. Why? Because the stream is the river of life, which flows from the throne of God in Heaven and is the Holy Spirit; and the tree is the tree of life. The tree of life, in our daily experience, is Jesus Himself. Jesus died on a tree, the cross of Calvary, to give us life. And, if we believe and trust in Him, we receive this life–life eternal.
