Happy Resurrection Day!
x
There is no question but that Jesus lived and died and was resurrected. There are several eyewitness accounts in the Bible which would certainly be good enough for any court of law today.
John writes: “We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard…” (1 John 1:1-3 NLT)
Paul writes to the believers in Corinth: “Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you…. I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve. After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles. Last of all…..I also saw him.” (1 Corinthians 15:1-8 NLT)
He also writes to the church in Rome: “God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.” (Romans 5:8-11 NLT)
Through faith in Christ’s death and resurrection, a wonderful new friendship relationship with God can be ours together with complete and total assurance of our salvation—not on our own merits (for we can never attain God’s righteousness ourselves) but solely on Christ’s merits alone.
No other faith or religion guarantees this to you!
Through faith in Jesus Christ, His perfect righteousness and holiness are imputed to you. He has prepared and prepaid your way, for, just as He said, He is the Way and He is the Door. (John 14:6, 10:7-9)
